Whopping Weasel Wednesday!

Well...my Sourcebooks editor's office staff has at least acknowledged receipt of Rascal, even if she's still on vacation. As I recall, there wasn't anyone in the office to see my revisions to Wildcat, either. But no matter. I'm on the road to indie publishing and I can't wait to get your reaction to the Unlikely Lovers trilogy. I'm working on chapter 30 of book three, and the cover art is in the works with fellow Sexteter, Bethany Michaels. My buddy Marie Force's E-Book Formatting Faeries business will be handling the formatting.

The rewrite has taken a lot longer than I thought it would, mainly because I wanted to have all three of them written before I started publishing. I could send them to my agent and have her submit them to Sourcebooks, but quite honestly, I'm ready to try a different approach. My other self-pubs haven't sold particularly well, but I've never tried it with a series. We'll see!

But enough ranting about the publishing business. Time to get to the heat and the meat! *;) winking

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Oh oh oh oh I love the angle and the pose of the picture! And no face? Wow, there goes our imagination.

I can't wait to see what all you have in the works, Cheryl!

I hope you like the books as much as the weasel! They're contemporary, all MF, but very, very hot!

Well, he's already dropped his pants. I'm very glad I arrived in time to get a chance to be Speared by Sir Lance a lot. And I don't see a line into his chambers. Good luck in your independent writing pursuits. Looking forward to reading the series.

Seriously, I believe this Wednesday Whopper would have been better if he weren't enhanced. Currently the size of his weasel tweaks my BS meter big time. It's a great pose, however, and he's a perfect candidate for the game of ring toss;)

I am totally looking forward to reading your new indie books, Cheryl. I'll buy them all at once as long as the price is reasonable. Is the price point something you're in control of?

There are ebooks on the market right this minute that I'd like to read but I won't pay 9.99 for them, sometimes price is even ridiculously higher. If it's between 7.99 for print and ebook...I'll buy print if available. You know I love you so this isn't anything personal...it's just that as an addicted reader who buys books ALL THE TIME, I hate publishers who believe I'll buy into their greedy. It infuriates me as a matter of fact...even if I love the author. Less sales at the time of publishing will eventually bring the price down to reasonable...and I've got patience out the wazoo.

Stepping off rant now...I've run into that 9.99 thing a lot lately and I'm provoked.

I probably need to go back and stare at hunk "adorable" for awhile and get myself into some good karma;)

I do have a choice on pricing. Purple Bikini is priced at $2.99, which I've been told is too low. I'm thinking $3.99 or $4.99 each for this series. However, to get the 70% royalty, you have to charge at least $2.99. Anything less only gets 35%. Still, at $2.99, I get about $2 per book, which is helluva lot more than Siren or Sourcebooks pays me per copy. And yeah, $9.99 for an e-book is ridiculous. The CreatSpace print copies are higher, just like any print on demand trade paperback size. Not much anyone can do about that.
