Thursday Thoughts

For those of you who haven't entered for the February 28th giveaway of two full sets of signed copies of the Cat Star Chronicles series, you have until 8pm EST tonight to enter. I'll be choosing the winners then and will post them on Friday's blog.

Thoughts... Hmm... right now, I'm looking out my window seeing snow all over the trees.

It's very pretty, but as you can see, we lost one of those trees in last night's snow.

It was a black locust that I'd planted more than twenty years ago. Funny how you come up with things you want to plant as soon as you move into a new house. The second apartment Budley and I shared was a big old house on Cherokee Parkway in Louisville. It had been duplexed, and we lived in the lower level where there was a black locust growing next to the screened in porch. I thought it was one of the prettiest trees I'd ever seen. I liked the leaves as much as the blossoms, and I made a point of getting several of them when we moved to Indiana. This is a pic I stole from Google images, but you get the idea.

The tree that fell was the biggest of those I planted and the closest to the house. I took this pic earlier this winter, (it's the tree next to the driveway) and you can see it was leaning even then.

I planted jonquils and hostas underneath it a long time ago. You can see the jonquils sticking up through the snow in the second pic, but this is what they looked like March 3, 2010. That's the shadow of the locust tree in the upper right hand corner.

That same year, the locust was in full bloom--the most beautiful it had ever been.

And now it's gone.

Makes me sad. *:( sad  Must find a sad hunk to go with it.

Dunno how sad he is, but he doesn't look very happy.

Must have sand in his butt.

Maybe it's because the rest of his body isn't tanned lol. Poor hunk.

And I'm sorry about the tree. That is really sad. It was a beautiful looking tree.

i completely spaced about the contest, ive been doing too much studying.
i think long haired guys are hot if they let me play with their hair and when they give me the i want you look from underneath all that hair. its also hot when it lightly brushes against my chest when we are kissing, its also a nice hand hold.

Yeah. I'm gonna miss that one, Ana.

Hey Nimby! Wondered where you've been, but studying is good, so keep up the good work! Will enter your comment in the drawing.

Since Nimby has established the precedent, anyone wishing to enter the giveaway may do so on today's post or the February 28th post. Be sure to include your email address with your comment!

You might be right, Cory!

Well first off, this is iike my 2nd or 3rd time seeing your blog ;) but to answer your ?,, long haired men are hot just because just having that strong muscular hunk of a man holding you in their arms and letting his hair brush against your skin is so invigorating and especially its a nice little bonus to pull and tug when your getting down to business ;) Just looking up in his eyes through his long locks and the way he looks at you begging for a kiss, and stroking it out of the way having it entangled in your fingers.. very hot!

Sad face about your tree. Sad face on the sand also. I didn't get a peak of his boo.

I'm sad too. When a tree falls in the forest, a Angel or Hunk in this case cries. So sorry about your tree. You'll need to plant a new one now. It's good to see Nimble Nimby surface from the books and some new comers like Marc. Always fun to share the wealth. Good Luck Every One.

I would love to win a autographed set of the "Cat" books. Mine are getting a little worn from being read to much. (I've been loaning them to friends to get them hooked on cats) I read "Wildcat" and loved it. I can't say I have a favorite book, but I love Jack and Cat, and love it when they show up in other books. I hope you are thinking of continuing on with the "kidlets" because they already have distinct personalities and I can see them in their own stories....HINT-HINT....I love the series and look forward to many more stories. Thank-you for them.

I thought about these picture and what they meant.
You lost your tree so we didn't get to see our tree. Am I right?

Cheryl Brooks said...

Yeah. That pretty much sums it up. ;)

I KNEW IT! :-)

So sad, the trees have fallen...both of them. We can only hope that at least one will be able to stand tall tomorrow. :)

Cheryl Brooks said...

Perhaps if we keep our fingers crossed, one of them will!
