Whopping Weasel Wednesday!

Ahh... a hunk in a hammock! A fitting way to salute the end of summer, don't you think?

It's hard to believe summer is almost over. Seems like the first of June was just yesterday and I was on my way to Cincinnati for the Lori Foster Get Together. Speaking of which, I'm planning to go again next year, and I'd love to see my Yah Yahs there!

But until next June, I'm ready for fall and cooler weather. Of course, I'll be in my room with the shades pulled down to keep the lovely weather from distracting me from finishing Hunk and Angel on Broadway, so I probably won't even notice.

Also, with the end of summer comes the end of the sale on Sex, Love, and a Purple Bikini which will be going back up to $2.99 after the first of the month. So, if you're looking for a $.99 bargain, better get it while it's cheap!

Monday Moons!

This picture reminds me that I've got to get my ass in gear and finish Angel on Broadway, my story for the Sextet's Mistletoe & Menage anthology, double quick if I want to have it done in time for a pre-Christmas release.

Unfortunately, I'm finding the urge to slide in behind this fellow and bite his buns to be somewhat distracting.

*clears throat* Moving right along...

In other news, I wrote the blurb, tagline, character descriptions, and synopsis for CSC #9 Hunk yesterday and sent it off to my editor along with a picture of The Big Chief, Daniel Morocco. LOL! Wish I could be a fly on the wall when she opens that email!

Okay, enough dreaming. Must post this blog and get back to work...

Sunday's Hunk of the Day!

Hungry?

There are so many delicious things to choose from, I'm not sure what to nibble on first!

What about you? Where would you start?

Saturday's Hunk of the Day!

*snicker* This is to make up for the lack of hunks yesterday. Here's one for those of you who prefer your guys painted...

And one for those of you who see no need to mess with perfection!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Friday Fun!

I've often been asked where I came up with the idea for my Zetithians. I think this picture says it all.

I mean, who wouldn't want to sleep with a hunk who could purr????

But dogs are great, too. Maybe my next brand of aliens will be more like dogs than cats.
Hmm.... I'll have to think on that one for a while.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.

Thursday Thoughts

I'd be thinking clearer if today's hunk wasn't so distracting and I didn't have so much dirt on the back of my neck. I did the mowing today (I'm writing this on Tuesday evening) and it was so dry I was eating dust most of the time. After I got finished, it rained. Figures. Normally that would be perfect timing--I'd cooked out on the grill, too, and was sitting at the table when the lights blinked--but a couple of days ago would've been better. Still, I can't complain. The last time we had a big storm like that, our phone and internet got fried.

I've been working on the Christmas story for the Sextet's Mistletoe & Menage anthology. It's been kinda hard to get in the mood, but it's coming along. I'm up to about 8000 words. Not sure how long it will be, but I'd like to get it up to 15K. We shall see. That's one of the fun things about writing these stories, I can write them as short or as long as they need to be.

The rest of the time I've been mulling over where to go with Hunk (CSC #9). I've bounced some ideas off my DH and a few friends, and I think I've got it. No big hair-raising adventure in this one, though. It's more like Outcast in that respect. *sigh* Now all I have to do is write it.

But I think I'll take a shower and have a little nap with today's hunk first!

Whopping Weasel Wednesday!

For those of you who like your hunks just a bit older, this guy was in the last batch of pictures that Sharon (aka Professor Penis) sent me. She normally likes them much younger than this guy. Not sure how he got in there...

Like most of the pics she sends me, he enlarges very nicely!

Keep 'em coming, Sharon!

In other news, Sharing is now available on Amazon in trade paperback form, which means it costs $16.50! Not sure I'd want to pay that much myself. Kinda like my first self-pub, If You Could Read My Mind. It's on Amazon, but it's a little cheaper. Only $14.49!

Tasty Tuesday Chicken Pierre!

And here's another yummy recipe from our own Diva Donna!

Hello! This is one of my hub's favorite recipes. I've made it for a long time. And he keeps asking for it over and over. Not sick of it yet. Serve with French bread to mop up every drop!

Or just add a hunk to do the work!

CHICKEN PIERRE(serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with liquid
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Directions

  1. In a shallow dish or bowl, combine flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and ground black pepper. Coat chicken breasts with flour mixture. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, and brown chicken on all sides. Remove from skillet, and drain on paper towels.
  2. In the same skillet, combine the tomatoes, water, brown sugar, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt, chili powder, mustard, celery seed, garlic and hot pepper sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and return chicken to skillet. Cover, and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes, or until chicken is tender, no longer pink and juices run clear.

Monday Moons!

Wow. Can you believe it's already the 22nd of August???? Where did the summer go? Not that it's been a particularly nice one. Seems like anytime it wasn't storming, it was hot enough to fry chicken on the sidewalk. I'm hoping fall will bring better weather.

Won't be long now. The leaves will fall and the weather will turn chilly. *sigh* No more naked boys in the swimming pool....

Anyone up for one last swim?

Saturday's Hunk of the Day!

LOL! Those undies have GOT to go!

Does anyone have a pair of scissors handy?

Friday Fun!

Not feeling very funny today. We have to go home. :(

But here are a few pics from the lake! We rented a different boat on Thursday. The one we had on Wednesday had such a short ladder we had to rig up some rope hand holds to get back in the boat. This boat had a little better ladder, better engine, and was a little bigger overall. And $25 more a day. We all agreed it was worth it.

Willy hitched a ride in my beach bag and got some quality time with the girls. As usual, Suzie was the pilot, but Willy was our honorary captain.

He rode with me for a while,

and then Terri,

But I think he had more fun with Angela!

After another relaxing day at the lake, we packed up and came in, turned in the boat, then went back to the house. I played guitar while Angela and Suzie made hamburgers. After dinner, Terri soaked her feet and we watched a movie.

We were going to leave later today, but Angela wants to get home sooner, so we'll probably be leaving at about noon like we always do. We've had a great time, but it'll be good to get home, too.

Now for today's hunk! If you're looking for humor, may I suggest that you try to name the game this fellow is playing.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thoughts? At the lake? Actually, I'm trying not to think.

Drifting on the water is best.

Well... Maybe I do daydream a bit...

Whopping Weasel Wednesday!

Greetings from Dale Hollow Lake near Byrdstown, Tennessee!

We got to the lake yesterday afternoon, had lunch, sang a little and napped a little, then had dinner down at the dock. After dinner, we sat and watched the sunset

and fed the ducks!

On the way back to the house, we went to get some ice and I finally remembered Willy! So we got him out and I took his picture with Angie.

Back at the house, we had margaritas and watched Hall Pass after Suzie got the DVD player to work. It's like this every year. We think we'll watch movies, and it takes an hour and a half to get the electronics sorted out.

Now for today's Whopper! Haven't seen anything like this guy, and I doubt that we will. This time of year, you don't see very many studs at the lake. Mostly old codgers like us!

Wish this guy would show us the rest of his face. I've got a feeling he's gorgeous!

And now, the Birthday Party for Elizabeth Raines!

Wow! Two birthdays this week!

Since I've already used them for Lisa's birthday, I hope Elizabeth doesn't mind that I didn't give her the Birthday Buns. Still, I'm sure she'll have fun popping the balloon!

Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!

Me and my hospital gang are leaving for Dale Hollow Lake this morning. Will try to check in later if Suzie's internet phone wifi thingy works.

I am SO looking forward to this trip! Drifting on the lake has been sounding really good for some time now. I usually get too cold laying out on the lake on my float, but something tells me that won't be a problem this year.

If we're really lucky, we might find something like this guy at the lake.

What are the odds?????

Monday, August 15, 2011

Monday Moons!

We're going to the lake tomorrow.

I wish,

I hope,

I may,

I might

see something like this.

Just once.

If only. . . .

In other news, Sex, Love, and a Purple Bikini is now on sale for $.99 on Nook and Kindle! Not sure how long this sale will last, but if you haven't gotten a copy yet, better get it while it's hot!

Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Finally! I've actually gotten around to putting everyone's birthday on my calendar.

Now maybe I won't have to scramble to add them in when they pop up on Facebook.

Interesting side story about the Birthday Buns. I was posting them for the last birthday (Mary G's, I believe) when Budley happened to spot the pic from across the room. His astonished "WTF?" shall forever remain etched in my memory.

And since Lisa's Birthday falls on a Sunday, she gets a Sunday Hunk, too.

Be gentle with him, Lisa!

Baby's First Doctor Visit

This made me laugh out loud.
I hope it will give you a smile!

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam.

The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed.

'Breast-fed,' she replied.

'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered.

She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination.

Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, 'No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.'

'I know,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma,

But I'm glad I came.'

Thursday Thoughts

It's a very strange thing not having phone or internet service. A big bolt of lightning blasted the phone and internet connections at my house early Sunday morning. It was weird not having a phone, and even weirder not having internet! I used to have that kind of isolation when we go to the lake, but since Suzie got her Droid phone and can make it a wifi source, we don't have that problem anymore. Budley's iPad worked, but I didn't think he'd want me downloading naked hunk pics to it.

Anyway, we got everything fixed on Monday, and it's working as well or better than it did before. *sighs with relief*

Earlier this week I finally hit on the best title for Cat Star #9. It's the story of Jerden. You remember him, don't you? He's the guy in the Zetithian brothel on Rhylos who gave Ava a free sample of Zetithian joy juice in Virgin. I hope that when when the folks at Sourcebooks ask for a character description, and I send them a picture of the Big Chief Daniel Morocco, I'll actually get the right sort of guy on the cover. I'm sending them this picture--or rather, the edited version of it. Hopefully it will bring about the desired effect.

I sent in this picture of Derrick Davenport for Stud and got a guy who looks nowhere near as manly. Oh, well. . . At least I tried!

Now back to CSC #9! The title is so simple, so perfectly obvious, it was staring me in the face all along. So, without further adieu, I give you...

Every woman in the galaxy wants him...

Tasty Tuesday Pizza Pork Chops!

Here's another great recipe (and great hunk!) from our own Diva Donna!

Who would think to make a Pizza Pork Chop? Well I have so many tomatoes and herbs right Now!! Why not? I love pizza. So without the crust. I think of Chops and Chaps I think of Cowboys. This cowboy just has so much possibilities. I love the V pointing down the furred trail to............. his pork chop on a stick. And just a small tug on his Wranglers and we'll know which direction the winds blows.

PIZZA PORK CHOPS

Ingredients

  • 5 boneless pork chops
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 5 slices tomato (1/2-inch thick)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 slices mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat.
  2. Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper and arrange in the bottom of a disposable aluminum pan; top each with a tomato slice. Divide the basil, oregano, and garlic between the pork chops; drizzle with the olive oil. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  3. Cook on the preheated grill until the pork is no longer pink in the center, about 25 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Remove the pan from the grill; top each pork chop with a slice of mozzarella cheese, replace the aluminum foil over the pan, and wait until the cheese melts, 3 to 5 minutes, before serving.

I was interviewed by fellow Sourcebooks author Sara Taney Humphreys at RWA in June. Here's the interview on YouTube!

Monday Moons!

Would you look at that? His buns are smiling! They've even got dimples!

I'm getting really excited about the trip to Dale Hollow Lake with Suzie, Angela, and Terri next week. We've all been chomping at the bit for weeks now, trying to figure out which boat to take out and where to eat dinner. I'm practicing on my guitar for our evening singalongs and hoping I can still fit into my bathing suit. This is one of the few times out of the year where I'm not traveling as a writer or as a mom, which means I'm truly on vacation!

I can't wait to sit on the dock and enjoy views like this!

Enjoy your Monday!
