Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's something to be thankful for: You don't have to cook this pumpkin!

Amazing, isn't it? It's a real one, too. This photo was taken in the lobby of a local restaurant where we'd gone for a dinner celebrating the three Eagle Scouts our Boy Scout troop promoted this year. Sam is there to illustrate just how big it is.

I'm thankful for a lot of things this year, some of them involve my writing career, and some have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Sam getting his Eagle is one. Needless to say, I'm very proud of him, but I'm also very pleased with the progress that Mikey is making toward his future in computer graphics technology. Maybe someday he'll be working on an animated version of The Cat Star Chronicles--or not. Can't see him animating a Zetithian penis, for example. He'd die of embarrassment!

But, I digress. I've got another year with my sweetie to be thankful for, and when I see just how hard it is for some folks to find lasting love, it makes me that much more thankful that I've had it for thirty years.

Finding a love that would last wasn't something I ever thought I'd find. This came up in a conversation the other day, and it made me stop and think for a bit. I never thought I'd even have a boyfriend, but I found one, and he's still my boyfriend after all these years. I've never met anyone I'd trade him for, either. Sure, we've had our ups and downs, but he's still the one, and for that, I am truly thankful.

Have a great day!

That is a huge pumpkin.

I kind of wish for a love for a long time too. My parents have been together 25 years and counting :D

Let's all be thankful for still being alive and everything us in our lives.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Cheryl, you are so right about all the things that you're thankful for---and I salute you for understanding how the people in our lives are the source of our bliss and the reason we have to be thankful for another year of--- everything---it's ALL good, because we're still here, together!

I'm glad I found your blog, and am thankful for ALL OF YOU, who have become friends through our exchanges of thoughts and ideas--HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!!

Suzy,
You ladies of the blog are yet another thing I'm thankful for.
Pretty soon we'll be celebrating the blog's first anniversary. This time last year I never would have dreamed it would turn out the way it did. The friendships that have developed even though we've never met one another is truly amazing.
Have a joyful Thanksgiving!

Lisa,
I never "host" Thanksgiving; it's always just me and the guys, but I decided we needed to clean anyway. I just got done with the vacuuming and mopping--two things I don't do nearly often enough!
Enjoy the day!

Leslie,
I think it's the biggest pumpkin I've ever seen in person. I've seen pictures of some that are bigger, but this one was quite impressive!

Thanks to you and all of the ladies of the blog for making this past year so special. It's been a blast!
