Mia's Men: Part II

He looked at her quizzically and then spoke up again. “Then what is your name?”

She was trying not to look down but couldn’t help it. Her eyes were betraying her. Hearing his voice snapped her back to attention. “What? Oh. I am Mia—Mia of, uh, everywhere.” She had been all over and couldn’t think of a place to call “home”, not anymore. Her mind stopped wandering and she looked up in surprise as the man stepped closer. What was he doing?

“You have…A distinct smell…” he stepped within a couple of inches of her and her eyes began to dart down again. The man had an amazing body with rippling muscles and she wanted to touch all over. She felt her body warming up and she hadn’t reacted to a male like this in quite some time. He reached forward and she shivered lightly as he sniffed at her neck.

“W-What are you d-doing?” Was that her voice? It sounded all scratchy and dry. Her heart was beating faster and she was trying not to pant.

“You have a distinct smell, like sweet graras.”

“What are those?” she asked and her cheeks flushed a little when he sniffed up to her ear. She should be pushing him away or backing away herself, but her feet were planted to the spot. Her body was practically begging for more and she didn’t know how well she could resist.

He pulled away a little and tilted his head before circling her slowly. He reminded her of a predator, and even though she was the prey, she was enjoying his attention quite a bit. “A grara is a sweet food we eat on Craton,” he replied. “We do not have those luxuries here.” He stopped behind her and she gasped softly as he sniffed along her shoulder.

She couldn’t take the heat anymore. She stepped back and looked up at him. “Look Lucern, I don’t understand what’s going on here but I don’t know how sniffing me is going to help me.”

“I did not mean to offend you Mia, I was simply curious. We have not seen a female in quite some time.”

“I can tell.” she murmured after glancing down again. “And wait a minute, you keep mentioning “we” over and over again. Who is this we you’re talking about?”

He smiled and looked behind him. “There are more of us Mia. We were not sure whether you be foe or friend so I appeared to check.”

“Uh huh. Well, I won’t disturb you anymore so if you’ll excuse me.” She turned to go back to her pod but then gasped in surprise as he stepped in front of her. “Look, you seem like a very nice man, but I need to find shelter and some food.”

“You need not look. We will take care of you.”

“At what price? I’ve learned things in this life aren’t free.” she said honestly then blinked as he grinned at her. Her eyes widened lightly and she took another step back. “Your teeth…Some are sharp…Why?”
